Has 'X Factor' Become The 'Axe Factor'?

The US version of the X Factor has fans scratching their heads after reports that top dog, Simon Cowell has let go of 3 out of 4 of his co-hosts, eliminating two judges and show host! Controversy over judges began even before the start of season one, as UK sensation Cheryl Cole was dramatically axed for Paula Abdul. Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger was originally casted as one of the hosts, but Simon decided to give her a chair instead.

Who was chopped from the X Factor? Simon has relinquished Paula, Nicole and Steve Jones of their duties.  Personally, I think Simon made the right decision with these cuts.  Not only is the dynamic between Simon and record executive, L.A. Reid perfect, but to be honest, these two are probably the most capable of scouting talent.  

Since Simon made these cuts, the rumor mill has definitely been flowing. According to Contact Music, Cowell hopes to get the diva-licious, Mariah Carey onboard.  Gahhh, I sure hope not!
