21 Awesome Adele Covers Honoring The Anniversary Of '21'
It's no secret that Adele Adkin's, more famously known as simply Adele is a music superstar. The 23-year-old singer who hails from West Norwood, London released her debut album '19' in 2008 and made some commerical success with her initial single "Hometown Glory". However, almost a year ago, on January 19th, 2011, Adele dropped 21, an album which began to "turn tables" with its first single, "Rolling in the Deep". The album has gone on to recieve a multitude of awards and sold well over 2 million copies. Adele even made headlines again recently when the Grammy's released their nominations for the upcoming awards and the British songstress raked in a total of six nominations.

Adele, who has been praised by everyone from Lady Gaga to Beyonce (who commented by saying she felt like she was "listening to God") has had an incredible year with the success of 21. It is fortunate to know that Adele is recovering after her recent throat trouble/surgery but sad to hear that Adele won't be producing her third album for a while. But we all know that Adele deserves the break and here at Buzznet, we thought it proper to celebrate the first anniversary of '21' in highlighting 21 awesome Adele covers. Check them out below!
I believe that both 'Glee' fans and Adele fans will agree with me when I say that '21' had a pretty awesome run on this past season of the show, so I thought I'd start the post off with Adele as covered by 'Glee'. Now the first cover isn't actually on 'Glee' but was performed by 'Glee' star Amber Riley, who as also been quoted as Adele's favorite on the show!
1. Amber Riley covering 'Someone Like You'
2. Gwyneth Paltrow covering 'Turning Tables'
3. Lea Michele and Jonathan Groff covering 'Rolling in the Deep'
4. Amber Riley, Naya Rivera and cast mash-up 'Rumour Has It' and 'Somebody Like You'
5. Charice's mash-up of Beyonce's 'Crazy in Love' and Adele's, 'Rolling in the Deep'
Now we move on from 'Glee' covers to other artists:
Rap and R&B covers
6. John Legend covering 'Rolling in the Deep'
7. Jeremih covering 'Rumour Has It'
Kid Bopz, here are some Adele covers performed by youngin's!
8. My favorite english muffin, Sophia Grace Brownlee covering 'Rolling in the Deep' on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show'
9. The amazing kids at Staten Island, NY's P.S. 22 covering 'Rolling in the Deep'
10. The amazing little British singer, Connie Talbot covering 'Someone Like You'
11. The amazing little British singer, Connie Talbot (again) covering 'Rolling in the Deep'
12. I know, I know, I love little English people, here is the last one of Connie Talbot covering 'Set Fire to the Rain'
U.S. Heroes cover Adele:
13. U.S. Airforce Staff Sgt. Angie Johnson and Sidewinder covering 'Rolling in the Deep'
Adele rock covers:
14. Linkin Park covering 'Rolling in the Deep'
15. Kassidy covering 'Rolling in the Deep'
16. David Cook covering 'Rolling in the Deep'
17. Although Adele didn't react too well to this cover on 'The Jonathan Ross Show' it's a pretty interesting cover. Here is Amyst with a screamo cover of 'Rolling in the Deep'
18. Rock Goddess Patti Smith covering 'Rolling in the Deep'
19. Although it's not as flavorful as his Willow Smith, 'Whip my Hair' cover, here is Irish singer James Vincent McMorrow's beautiful cover of 'Someone Like You'
20. Indie band Father Tiger's awesome representation of 'Set Fire to the Rain'
Pop cover:
21. Now the numbers of these covers are in no order of significance and maybe I should have chose a better cover for the iconic '21' number but instead I picked America's probably most hated X Factor judge, Nicole Scherzinger's cover of 'Rolling in the Deep'
So ladies and gents, are you huge Adele fans? Are there any covers that are your favorites and don't appear on this list and/or what are your favories on this list? I'd have to say I really enjoyed the 'Glee', 'Rumour Has It/Someone Like You' mash-up, the Father Tiger, P.S. 22, and the James Vincent McMorrow cover. I also have to admit that John Legend always melts my heart. However, none of these covers can truly top Adele's original, so thank you Adele for an amazing year in music and I wish you a very Happy Anniversary on your sucessful album, '21'!!!!!!!!!
